Floturn's state-of-the-art centerless grinding department specializes in producing aluminum cylinders with 10 micron T.I.R. and surface finishes well below normal grinding practice. Some rolls produced in our grinding facility require assembly of machined hubs prior to grinding; concentricity of hub to cylinder is also held within 10 microns.
Grinding of aluminum to tight specifications is a specialized process that requires Floturn's proprietary tooling design. Other materials processed in our grinding department include stainless steel and carbon steel.
Typical applications for Floturn's grinding process include magnetic rollers, paper feed rollers, developer sleeves and precision shafts.
